WILDLIFE FOR CANCER
“Your own self-realization is the greatest service you can render the world” ~ Ramana
Welcome to Wildlife for Cancer – where for the first time in India, wildlife meets a cause! This is a website to support underprivileged children affected by Retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer.
The magnetism of Indian wildlife images is undeniable. It is all-pervasive, fascinating and thoroughly inspirational. We strongly believe that these wildlife images can benefit the children.
Wildlife for Cancer is founded by Ramki Sreenivasan – an entrepreneur, passionate conservationist, wildlife photographer and a cancer survivor himself. In 2017 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. While he is on the road to recovery, he couldn’t help notice that a large section of the population had little or no access to the prohibitively expensive cancer treatments. Spurred by what he saw, Ramki figured he could use two things he knows best to try and help the cause – wildlife and photography.
Wildlife for Cancer offers a rich collection of photographs of Ramki’s experiences in India’s wilds. When you buy high quality prints of the images showcased, the entire proceeds (minus cost of printing and shipping) will go directly to Iksha Foundation, an NGO committed to helping underprivileged children affected by Retinoblastoma.
Over time, Ramki plans to invite his large network of friends from the wildlife community to share their stunning images to make Wildlife for Cancer an ever-growing platform for cancer charity.

Testimonials
Ramki Sreenivasan is a savvy entrepreneur who has always tried to make the world a better place for both wildlife and people. He has applied his magical photographic talents quietly and effectively to save wildlife by changing hearts and minds through reason and passion.
When I walk into my office in Central Bengaluru, I am instantly teleported to the wilderness I would rather be in, simply by looking at Ramki’s brilliant portraits of wildlife. Anyone who cares for a better future for all of us should support this project.

A truly breathtaking presentation of wild India. This carefully curated collection of exquisite photos from one of India’s leading conservationists is a true labour of love. Decades of diligence and a keen eye for beauty is apparent in every shot of this masterful collection. Each photo, be it the majestic elephant, the regal tiger or the dazzling display of the male peacock strutting in all his glory, is a joy to behold and cherish.

10 years ago, Ramki gifted me on my House warming, a large print of a tusker he had photographed. Both the elephant and the photograph were stunning and I immediately hung it in our living room. I have changed houses but that elephant always holds pride of place in my house. This ‘Tusker on the Kabini’ is often the heart of the discussion in the room when I have friends over (for a drink)!. Of course it helps that it’s right on top of the bar !

We have many different sized prints of the spectacular wildlife photographs that Ramki has shared with us over many years. Each picture is unique and brings out different feelings.
Our kids are fascinated with animals and they both have one picture each in their rooms, which they are happy to show off as taken by their dear Uncle :). I have a cute Red Panda surrounded by greenery in my office.
I heartily support the worthy cause of helping children affected by retinoblastoma and am glad to contribute in any way possible. Thank you for starting this initiative!!

The concept of Wildlife for Cancer is simply brilliant! And, I cannot think of a better person for this than Ramki. On the wall in my living room is a treasured framed photograph of a tusker in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary that was taken by Ramki, with a stunning backdrop of the forest. Over the years, I have been a big fan of Ramki’s talent as a photographer and am keenly awaiting the launch of this initiative to participate in it. Great idea!

I have quite a few pictures (to name some, a snarling tiger, a tusker and a peacock) of Ramki’s. When I see these pictures, I am reminded of how insignificant we are as humans for those birds and animals portray sheer grace, elegance and power. Thank you for sharing your precious captures with me and much more importantly, your decades of work on wildlife conservation.
I sincerely wish the kids suffering from retinoblastoma the best and I am sure many of them will be fully cured, more so with your support. Please let me know how and when I can buy some more images to support the kids.

A gorgeous print of a leopard staring down at me from a tree, poised to leap but so well balanced. Ramki has captured the essence and raw beauty of the animal in its natural habitat. It almost looks 3 dimensional and true to life.

Ramki’s photographs evoke a sense of timelessness and we are grateful to have his support and pictures at the Centre for Wildlife Studies!
